2/7 - 2/13/2022

2/7 - Monday

Got email that kids had close contact at the Y again, expected call from school or the Y to pick them up early, call never came. I pretended not to see the email :') When I went to pick up the kids and mentioned to Doug, he said "yeah, I'm ok as long as they don't have symptoms. It's a crazy time". With his usual frequent head nods. Thanks Doug! Fully vaccinated kids stay at school without symptoms too, I don't feel so bad :') Still reported to school tonight, glad Jam can take the kids tomorrow. Although he stress ate a little.

2/8 - Tuesday

Jam took the kids for the whole day, sweet sweet Jam <3

I took the kids for the evening. Making them repeat after me worked well :o Even though the sentence was long and they had to read word by word by themselves, there was less resistance and they paid attention to the words. 

Ruyi wrote sent some messages about having to practice after class in the group chat. Because kids are forgetting words and she's not receiving homework it seems. Some parents said yes will do. Kunkun's mom said she have a hard time doing homework, kunkun doesn't take her execuse of learning as playing game XD I added on and asked if we could have a slower class or extra class. Ruyi offered duo duo, I'll take duo duo! 

Ruyi left me a message asking if Friday is better for makeup class, the girls heard it and asked if it was ruyi, i said yes. Mimi: I want to be good at chinese, i want to be as 厉害 as you mom. Ella: I want to be good at chinese too. Mimi: your chinese is good (to me), but not as 厉害 as ruyi or lao YE! I promised them I'll help them to be good at chinese.

2/9 - Wednesday

Zoomon was quite a mess to start, the teacher kept talking on the phone and coworkers trying to figure out another teacher for my kids. Then he decided that the two other kids would go first before Mimi. They went, and did their sight words and math perfectly and was done in 2 min each :o Mimi kept fidgeting and spoke very quietly, but she finished! Ella was more enthusiastic and said words ahead when she knew. 

We fit in a costco trip for the night. Wow Reddy sent 90 gifts for the day :o Lucky with stevis XD Did more homework at night. Then I played drawing game and coloring with the sweet Ella. She gave me homework that's color all the clouds on the pusheen coloring sheet we were working on, her instruction was: don't be too colorful, I think just blue is ok. I make alternating dark and light blue, she seemed to like it. I finished the rest while she and Mimi wilded upstairs    

2/10 - Thursday

When I picked up Mimi from the Y, she rushed to me and hit me. Doug told me Mimi had a rough day, she was playing a game with Ella and Ben, and they had some misunderstandings and Mimi was very sad and mad and said she wanted to die the whole afternoon. I thanked Dough, reminded the girls it was Kumon and thus icecream day. This got Mimi going a little. She still hang back and was reluctant to go in the car. 

We listened to the Encanto music in the car. Ella: I can't understand the Chinese ones. Mimi: I can understand some, like that word. She didn't state which words. Then the under the surface song came up, they loved it. Mimi: in English it goes drip drip drip, in Chinese it goes 点点点. Ella: yes, in English it goes oh oh, in Chinese it goes oh oh. haha.

Ella brought home a little booklet of things she liked, first thing she liked was pee. I said: I like pee, Ella likes pee, you like math, and choice time, and blank, and music, but first thing you like is pee. Ella: P E. I LIKE P E. Later I read Mimi's booklet with her, when she was on the 'recess' page, she said: Ella didn't have this page because she doesn't like recess. Blank mystery solved. 

2/11 - Friday

Daniel is back! He spend some time explaining his social project and sample unity app, I can make more progress yay :') /\

But the day ended early, Ruyi offered a makeup class today for Tuesday's missed class. The girls complained many times during the class, I feel bad for Ruyi, but as usual, she's full of energy. Ella and Mimi fought to recognize words. Ella read the Chinese poem very diligently. She told Ruyi: 我昨天读的更好。我觉得我昨天读的比今天好。She did read very diligently yesterday. After class, I heard the girls ask ruyi: 你还有事情么？Ruyi:没有了我们下课了。They ran to me, said 我们做的很棒。如意说我们都很棒。Ella:我觉得我是做的最好的。Mimi:我也觉得你是做的最好的。From what I heard I thought so too. But they both did great :) 

I made the Kumon homework easier, I was able to finish both girls's without much complaint.

2/12 - Saturday

Hoppip day! Craze craze craze catch. It was a sunny day, but the spot where raids were at was shaded, we endured the cold and battled. Went to stormwater for a raid and basketball court for some catches with the kids. On the way back, they were talking about flowers, then they said: we want to take pictures of the flowers, because it is spring.

2/13 - Sunday 

Ella wanted me to sit in the middle of the backseat. I tried to fit Kumon during the drive, the girls did really well. Mimi kept rubbing her hear on my shoulder, so soft.

Ella told me she's waiting for me to stop aww'ing whenever she mentions cat and dog. After digging deeper, she admitted she didn't like when I complain, "because you don't like it when people complain and I am your daughter so I don't like it when people complain too." She is my daughter :')

Duoduo was awesome and patient! With Chinese homework done, I had energy to go for a night trip to stormwater with the kids, they were wild and happy.
