4/19 - Tuesday

Tried to squeeze in all the client work before Daniel went on vacation. Did pretty well. Until Daniel pointed out that I needed to add a web link to a page, and I went "what web link". Upon closer inspection, I totally missed that the spec had 2 forks for the UI based if player had on email or no email T_T But where I added the fork was one page later than the actual fork \T_T/ A problem for tomorrow's Song. 

Kun kun and backup Clement playdate both fell through because they were sick. Jam came home early and took the kids. Apparently they were mean to him :( He let them play outside. I took over and called them back inside. Luckily they were in a better mood by then, after some loud Ella yelling to scare a bunny. I even got a 'CHEEK' from Mimi to encourage me to read spirited away.  


4/20 - Wednesday

Jam's noodle arm is too good. 

Mimi: There's an Erin at the Y. And there's an Erin in my class. They are both girls. The only boy is your Erin Ma. (Eren in attack on titan)

Ella: I love looking at the pages in Attack on Titan. I don't think they're scary. I think they're funny.

True. I never remembered the gory parts in fist of the north star, when Suwen mentioned it to me on wechat. Only that the dude destroys his clothes every time and (my) mom might be mad. 


4/21 - Thursday

The oreo is here! The girls have been asking everyday if he's coming. They kept track of the days, asked if Oreo was coming in 2 days, then tomorrow, then today. The girls setup his 'playground with food' for when he will be ready.



4/22 - Friday

Oreo was tempted by play :)

Shutterfly reminded me why this emoticon is so familiar.


Picked up the girls from school for a makeup Kunkun playdate! Arrived at Kunkun's. I wasn't 100% sure which house was kunkun's, the girls disagreed with me. I went to knock on the door, the girls decided to hide in case I was wrong.


I checked message while waiting at the door. There was a message from Jin Mei an hour ago that Kunkun had close contact with classmate with covid, the only day he went to school :') Jin Mei caught us from the window. We chatted a little about the unfortunate situation. I told the girls about it and that we had to head back. Ella said: how about the snacks?! I left the snacks at the door. When I returned, Ella said: did you leave the dress?! I said no and showed her the dress. She hugged it. We packed a dress because Ella "had to be fancy" when she was a guest. Jin Mei and I decided to have hotpot next weekend instead \^o^/

Tempted the girls with snacks and they came on a neighborhood walk with me. It was warm, the flowers were beautiful, and I was able to capture some precious moments, and some pretentiously posed ones.

Oreo was not very fond of the girls. But the girls were very fond of him, getting super close and petting him, despite the hissing. Luckily he is a shy kitty and did not strike. (Although I just heard an "ouch" from Jam :o)


4/23 - Saturday

Nice food + official pokey craze!


Helped a granny who wasn't getting buddy hearts because she didn't feed her buddy to full :') She said we were awesome people for making the game :')


4/24 - Sunday

Continue trying to be worry free and went to the garden with the family. The girls wanted to play tag with me, they run so fast! We ran up and down the sloped garden structure by the entrance, I was out of breath, bogged down by my bag and camera. They ran and tagged us and bullied jam by asking him to only walk where there is shadow. 

At night I chilled and played osmo and sushi go (Ella's pretend version, not real sushi go) with the kids. E came and got oreo. He was lovely with me towards the end, I got to pet him, and he batted at my leg when I turned to walk out of the room, and meowed to ask to play more.

1/24 Monday Received email last night the girls had close contact at the Y and need to quarantine T_T Thankfully Jam doesn't mind taking a few days off. Small upside is not having to force the kids to bed before midnight (they stayed up till 12:30) or wake them up early. The whole evening was spend recording Chinese new year greetings. Lots of takes and some mom tantrums later, we had cute footage! Sent to Jam's parents too. Good job me! 1/25 Tuesday Took the kids for the evening again since Jam took them for the whole day. Good job Jam! Got back to doing a little extra reading with the kids - have been doing only Spong homework since beginning of the year. 1/26 Wednesday Got covid result back within 24 hours :o Stuffed kids back in school. 2/21 - 2/27/2022

 2/21 - Monday After 11 iterations of taking different parameters out, finally stumbled upon the fix to Dagger injection with Tatsuya's confirmation (I'd have kept going trying to fix the param, but turned out I can just remove it :o). Caught LT online too, they do work overtime :') Parents left when I was showering, I caught them at the end of shower and shouted goodbye, James assured me that they did shout goodbye back to me. I started to encourage the kids to check their own work. After Mimi did her math sheet, I asked her to check her work before giving to me. I went to the bathroom. Came back and found Ella checking Mimi's work. Mimi sat close to her and was twirling a pen. After a bit Ella pronounced Mimi's work all correct, I confirmed.    Ella was grumpy when playing lego, but calmed down and told me a story after some petting. 6/6 - Monday The 25 questions of Iowa turned into an hour! Ella was a trooper and did very well. She got frustrated after reading a 4 line question and don't know the answer. I encouragement her to read again, 3 or 4 times if needed. She read again, cracked a big smile and said "oh this is the answer". She got it right.  She did get frustrated again a few times, but recovered after I reminded her it's normal to read multiple times. One time she explained to me, for the question "if someone got a hole in one, what equipment did they use": you can't use a ball to hit a ball, and this bat looks like the one from 小猪佩奇。 She got the right golf club. 6/7 - Tuesday When I picked up the girls from Ruyi, she commented on how beautiful their hair is. She asked how I washed them every day, I revealed I don't XD  When we walked back home, Ella asked to play outside, but Mimi didn't want to.
