4/25 - 5/1/2022
4/25 - Monday
Mimi got 39/40 on her NNAT, after countless 26/40s. She bounced around and said "如果我仔细看NNAT是不难的！" Ella said that she was "so jealous". She was too sick and I comforted her for getting 34/40, she insisted to do more homework and mastered 2 more math IXLs.
I washed a bowl of grapes and asked the girls to share. Ella said she didn't want any. She was sick and coughing today but toughed out a whole day at school+Y :') During Mimi's Kumon session with Jam, she came for a drink and snack (she needed her rests between homework). She looked at the grape bowl and said "oh no oh no oh no". She brought the bowl to Ella and said "sorry Ella I'll leave the rest to you". Ella told her again that she didn't want any. Mimi said "oh then give them all to me." She finished the grapes and her Kumon.
Late at night, Mimi came into my office bedroom and asked to sleep there. She shuffled around and played with various objects. After a while, I heard Ella say "Mimi it's your turn" in her raspy voice, then "Mimi it's your turn to talk". I asked Mimi if she'd like to take a turn, Mimi said "Eloise is asleep". I listened, heard some small breathing, and let Eloise be.
4/26 - Tuesday
Ella was coughing a lot in the morning, so I got them from school instead of Ruyi, to monitor how they are doing. I went to the car pickup area, without knowing ruyi picked them up from the field and walked to the car. Luckily after not too long, I realized I should check the field. The girls were surprised I came up from the other side of the field and ran to me, they were the last 2 kids left.
I dropped Mimi at Ruyi's and took a sick Ella home. She immediately laid on the couch and fell asleep soon after. We didn't wake her up until Jam prepared all the dinner. When I picked up Mimi, Ruyi asked how Ella was. I told her she fell asleep. She asked then "why does Mimi have so much energy then" XD
Mimi educated me in "opinion books". "Everyone loves bacon is an opinion book" she said, "because not everyone loves bacon".
4/27 - Wednesday
Ella was SUPER into my puff today. Super squeaky ENNNNN while petting me <3

Poke crazed & got swags & good food - good day accomplished!

4/29 - Friday
Jam had the great idea of keeping the girls home for their cough. The absence triggered an "evaluate if your kids should stay at home more" email from the nurse, that we agreed to ignore. Ella slept for a few hours so it was good she stayed home.

At bedtime, unusually, Mimi asked to go to bed immediately. While cleaning up, she told me that she wakes up the most at night, more than Ella and Daddy and me, so she is tired today. She was a little sick and fell asleep quickly.
Ella asked for extra time and I let her. But had to go upstairs to transfer photos. After some time, Ella found me upstairs, shuffled to me while "mew mew mew"'ed, sat on my lap, petted me some, and went away. I asked her to stay, she didn't.
After some more time, I hear jam sending Ella to her room. Soon after, she shuffled into my room. Ella: do I need to sleep mom? Me: if you're bothering daddy you have to sleep. But you can bother me for a bit. Ella: then I will sleep. But I might talk to Mimi. Me: you can talk to me instead. Ella: no I'm going to sleep. As she walked away in big strides, she yelled "MIMI!" After a bit she came back to me and asked to explore the bedroom. Apparently ko'ed Mimi wasn't fun.
4/30 - Saturday
Woke up late and slightly stressed, but decided to try chilling and not fit any activities in. We were able to finish lunch on time, take few pictures around the house, and head to Kunkun's.
The girls and Kunkun holed up in kunkun's bed/play room. JinMei and I went upstairs to chat. JinMei is a lot of fun! Despite talking about lots of life problems, but no bitchyness, and not about wanting to be the 1%, unlike Qiben XD They also have the best cat! Scottish fold and begs for pets :')
Once I saw the hotpot ingredients, I asked to join dinner XD We previously cancelled hotpot out of fear of giving them flu, but.. HOTPOT! Once JinMei started preparing, I went to check on the kids, who were biking and scooting outside now :o Kunkun wanted to go to sunrise. His culdesac couldn't entertain him I gathered, after he knocked on two neighbours's doors, unsuccessful at getting their kids out to play. I convinced him to go to the basketball court instead. We had some good play time at the basketball court. The kids complained just a little about who should get the preciously easy to scoot yellow scooter. Kunkun yelled at other kids just a little to give him more space XD Kunkun is feisty, but also listens, stops immediately after I told him to stop yelling, or going too far ahead. The kids enjoyed playing hide and seek with me, where I pretended to try smelling them, but discover the smell is only from a rock/slug.
On the way back to JinMei's, I had to go to the bathroom, and decided to take a rest at home. Kunkun was very excited to visit our house. Him and the girls sat together and flipped our books quietly. Suddenly there was knock on the door, and I hear Jam talking, Kunkun looked outside and said "NO!". Then I realized it was Kun ba who was asking us to head back because food was ready! I missed JinMei's calls.
Returned to JinMei's for their SUPREME HOT POT! With the best ingredients! And good soup! I still miss Jam's soup :) The girls played well with (other people's) dads's supervision. I danced and played games with JinMei. She closed the window and blinds so the kids won't notice XD Apparently Ella cried a little for she thought KunKun and Mimi didn't play with her as much (a common theme for her at any playdate), and as Kun ba entertained her, Mimi fell and got a cut on her ankle. JinMei took care of her wound and Mimi was very satisfied. She headed out to play again, while we adult played with Switch.
When the girls returned to the house after dark, Ella asked why did mimi get 毒'ed? Upon asking I realized Mimi got 毒'ed when JinMei 消毒'ed her. Well, she did get some 毒dirt I guess. I explained to the girls that JinMei's first aid was so great there was no more 毒. The girls ate loooots of berries and oranges while looking at people play Mario party. There was little turtle (Kun ba) and turtle with helmet (Kun). Little turtle always won :') Ella believed little turtle (without helmet) was Kun and kept cheering for him. At the reward ceremony, she yelled "YAYYY KunKun 你赢了，Kunkun好厉害"! She was a little disappointed when JinMei confirmed that little turtle was not Kunkun :')
As we left, Mimi gave Kun di a sweet hug, and Kunkun gave Ella and huge hug and kissed her chin. Then he told us to be careful of bears. I held the kids's hands and walked home. We talked about which wild neighbourhood animal was the strongest. When we got back to our culdesac, Alonso was out working on his car. Ella said hi, and "my friend said there are bears, be careful of bears." Alonso said "oh yes there is a bear, right? North of here, but I hear it's coming down." The girls were silent. Then Mimi let go of my hand and ran home, Ella followed, running. Alonso was distraught and asked if he shouldn't have said anything, I assured him that it was just our dramatic girls XD It was almost 10 when we came home, the girls cleaned up and went to bed, and fell asleep around 10:10. They had a busy day :)
5/1 - Sunday
Shanda was able to come for our bright horizons reservation! The girls kept discussing wether she'll make muffins or cupcakes or jello. I asked them to keep their expectation low. Shanda came with no food, but lots of energy and crafts. The girls behaved very well with her (with some complains), and finished 70% of my assigned homework.
So after Shanda left, we watched attack on titan and demon slayer themes for an hour :) There was a moment of panic as I realized the 30% of homework left takes more time than I thought, but the girls made good progress and was able to finish, with not much yelling from me :)
