 5/30 - Monday

Finally a successful dining at a restaurant! We failed to get dimsum at king's (they were closed and changed name, although the new sign still says seafood restaurant, and Jam says google think it's still king's). Since the girls asked for Monga, we went to Looking for Chai. We got two rices, two chickens, one 空心菜, and one tea. Food was yummy and everyone had something they loved, we got another tea to go :)

We checked out the Seattle Chinese garden. It was small but fun. Ella scraped her knees and Mimi stepped in the pond, so we didn't attempt another location and came home.

We finished homework early. I made waffle dinner, the girls loved and ate about 2 waffles each. When I was starting to make waffles, I mentioned that if I had more free time, I would make waffles more often. Mimi: "I want to help you do what I can do, so you have time to make waffles." I asked her to clean the room. She said: "I don't want to clean up." Jam convinced her to clean the room, and she apparently did well cleaning the living room with Jam's supervision. Ella: "I don't want to clean up, could I do homework instead?" I urged Ella to help me sort their drawings into used, want to take a picture of, and unused. She did very well, and put Mimi's drawings into the "take picture of" pile.

After dinner the girls played outside for more than an hour. When Mimi was putting on shoes, she ran back to me and asked if she could put away the silverware that just came out of the dishwasher. I gave the silverware holder to her. She asked Ella if she wanted to do it together, Ella didn't, Mimi happily finished putting the silverwares away and returned the holder into the dishwasher. Then went out to play.

The girls found a rhododendron bud, took it apart, and found little pods inside just like raisins :o They were so intrigued that the bud raisins sticked to everything - it's just as sticky as a mushed flower, not extra sticky. Mimi kept opening the door and requesting me to touch it, with her sweet high pitch voice and big eyes. I pinched a few buds.

5/31 - Tuesday

Conversations with Omer were better, at least he showed his face. I pushed back on inheriting auth, after couple back and forth, realized he tried to push for it because it was written in OKR, oh well. Used whole day to plan for grace period and ended at 66 days estimate XD

Ella asked sweetly if she could play outside, we let them play outside until almost 7. I made Jam play some Gintama shorts, they are so funny! When I went to call the girls back, Ella was moving a large bamboo. She put it down, slowly walked to me with her hands held together, said "Mimi gave me work to get flowers and stuff but she didn't use any of it". I gave her some encouragement, that even if Mimi didn't play with what she told her she would, she might still have noticed and appreciated. Ella then laughed and said "I worked very hard, I picked 11 berries", while sticking up 7 fingers. When Mimi came in, she said she rode the bike round and round and round and round the deck.

6/1 - Wednesday

Ella complained about riding the car everyday, so I promised to pick them up and walk home in the evening.

Working with Blot is really unpleasant XD

When I picked up the girls from Y, they both asked to go through the forest. We did, there were  happy times and fighting times. When we made it out, Mimi was throwing a tantrum and said next time she would walk the main road while Ella and I walked through the forest. I offered for her to walk home by herself on one side of the loop through Aisha's house, while I take Ella through Ruyi's house. Ella: "I want to walk with Mimi!" To my surprise Mimi nodded, and asked me to go on my way. We split, the girls excitedly run away from me, I reminded them to walk slowly. They got home before me and excitedly told me they won.

6/2 - Thursday

After sternly telling the kids to go to bed and not bother me, Ella, as she was walking away: "ok. I love you mama." I rushed to her and gave her a hug, she gave me puffs.

6/3 - Friday

Listened to Jam's GEM woes during our lunch takeout break. Life's tough :( Yifang boba's good though!

Walked with Jam to pick up the kids. We split at the forest. I chatted with Sabrina till we split at the intersection. Ella bounced all the way home with her big backpack, asked me random little bits about One Piece and Attack On Titan.

6/4 - Saturday

We had dimsum with limited success - no meltdowns but the only main course kids ate was 炸两.

The weather was so nice so I suggested to go to Sammamish lake park at the spurt of the moment. The sun and warmth and wind were exactly perfect at the waterfront. The girls were focused on two big puddles and ignored the lake. I had good time walking along the shoreline. (We also had a nice walk through the trail before hitting the playground and waterfront)

I dropped the girls at Clement's for a playdate. When I went to pick them up, Sabrina gave me a warning message that Eloise had been crying, because she thought her paper folding was bad. She was still crying when I picked her up. I had a small conversation with Clement to thank him and invite him to come over next time. Clement gave me his paper airplane and said I should take it home, then closed the cardboard box he was playing with, enclosing himself inside. I thanked Sabrina and headed out. Ella was still wailing, and threw a paper flower by the door. Mimi said: "oh she left her flower." Then stared at Ella, then stared at me, then ran back and picked it up. She put in the little paper bag Clement made for them.

On the way home, I held hands with Mimi, Mimi got concerned Ella was falling behind, agreed to wait  patiently at a yard, while I went back for Ella. I gave Ella a hug, listen to some of her whines, held her hands and caught up with Mimi. I held both girls's hands and walked together for a bit, then Ella got angry/jealous at something Mimi said: I like folding paper, it's very easy. Let go of my hand, refused to walk, while I went ahead with Mimi. Mimi then got concerned and we repeated this process couple times. Ella kept getting angry at what Mimi said, "I had fun at Clement's house", even "Hey look at this". Ella kept replying with "I folded so bad because Mimi was laughing at me". Mimi: "I wasn't laughing at you Eloise". We eventually made it home.

After we got home, I took Ella upstairs, lectured her about not blaming Mimi for her making bad paper folding. She cried for a while about how she's not good at anything, and she's the worst in her class. Then "I want to be as hard working as you but I'll never be as hard working as you". :'( I told her she's already more hard working than me, and I don't rank well at life too, but I keep working, because making $80 an hour, not $200 like others, is still better than $0. She was silent for a bit, then asked me if I could make 年糕again. I'm surprised she remembered, this was the 2nd time she asked recently. I promised yes, even if I don't make it I'll buy some when we're at AFC. She then asked to go downstairs with me, and we did.

6/5 - Sunday

I slept in and had a late start to the day. Jam seemed annoyed, but recovered on the drive. We had decided to go to IKEA, then saw the good weather and decided to go to Bellevue botanical garden, then saw the rain while on 405 and decided to go to IKEA. The weather was nice when we got to IKEA.

We got
- A candle that smelled nice. Mimi carried it in the bag most of the trip.

- a mew that the girls couldn't stop cute raging after
- A new dish rack
- A white board, which Ella immediately arted once Jam assembled it

We went to Ranch, then Lily's home. Serena is so warm and soft <3 Ella made me tea and cookies from the pretend kitchen, and cute rage fluffied my hair while I pretended to consume them. Mimi jumped and ran loops in the trampoline.

After I taught (hopefully) Mimi about mirroring, she gave me a note <3
