6/13 - 6/19/2022

 6/13 - Monday

No Y for the last week of school. I picked up the kids and Sophie for playdate. I've told the kids that after school they have to lead Sophie to me, and they really did each holding one of Sophie's hands. We walked home through the forest, with the kids pumping Sophie up to see Aisha's house, I hoped she knew we were going to our house. Both kids talked to Sophie so much, they kept interrupting Sophie, but she was fine with it :') We made pompoms, Jam made crepes (while I assisted with fruits and snacks since kids ate fast), and kids reasonably wilded around the house. 

When Megan came to pick up Sophie, Sophie and Mimi ran away, Sophie to escape from picking up and Mimi to encourage escaping from picking up. Ella came up to Mega, reported "Sophie made this pom pom. She worked very hard, and she made it all by herself. And Amelia made her pom pom all by herself, and I made my pom pom all by myself, I got upset, but I made my pom pom all by myself." 


6/14 - Tuesday

Laolao's here! And laolao's not much help XD The girls are really the boss of her now. 

After Ella came home, she came to my room (after I heard her asking where is mama a few times, voice echoing from different corners of the house), and told me tomorrow's field day, and she'll go to the upper field, and there'll be a popsicle stand. I hope it's more exciting than going to the upper field for the whole day, but popsicles are fun :) 


6/15 - Wednesday

Ran out and got the kids for Zoomon - they were playing with Clement and Frankie at the school apparently. Encouraged Ella to do Zoomon. Got Mimi up from nap (lao lao only informed me and left Mimi there) to do Zoomon. Zoomon people were very uninvolved, even the usually involved Athena, and I ended up checking the kids's work and asking them to ask questions for the ones they got wrong. Lao lao made some 馅饼, which I couldn't eat until I took care of cleaning up and sorting the kids's homework. Sigh, tired, gotta pay for good nanny.


6/16 - Thursday

Ella kept coming upstairs because she was angry at Mimi or angry at homework. I held her on my lap for 10 min while she flipped through my corner creatures sticker book and asked questions about what they did and why they are so funny and cute. We had a good puffing and went downstairs for dinner together.


6/17 - Friday

The GDPR pain continues, at least Venus dude is a trooper :') CTO is adding confusion to apple relay problem >.< At least Robert and Jaime are troopers :')

The girls had two hours of school. The assembly was apparently broadcasted but I didn't see the email until afternoon. After ma promised me she would make the girls do homework, I came downstairs at 3:13p to find the homework untouched. I yelled 'time to do homework', and the girls immediately started working on their homework. They finished the 4 sheets faster than I thought, just before my 4p meeting, for me to give them iReady.


6/18 - Saturday

Mimi threw a tantrum in the car, for 10+ minutes, kicking and repeating I hate my family. In an effort to change her mood, I told her about the park that had a lot of bird houses, and asked if she'd like to see it. She said "I don't believe you". I asked "would you like to see them". She said "yes, because I don't believe you". I convinced Jam to go to the redwood park, luckily it had a bathroom and Jam's pee explosion fears didn't come true. The girls loved the bird houses, and collecting berries which walking. They had sinister plans with the berries though.


6/19 - Sunday

Homework with some tantrum, but finished.

1/24 Monday Received email last night the girls had close contact at the Y and need to quarantine T_T Thankfully Jam doesn't mind taking a few days off. Small upside is not having to force the kids to bed before midnight (they stayed up till 12:30) or wake them up early. The whole evening was spend recording Chinese new year greetings. Lots of takes and some mom tantrums later, we had cute footage! Sent to Jam's parents too. Good job me! 1/25 Tuesday Took the kids for the evening again since Jam took them for the whole day. 2/21 - 2/27/2022

 2/21 - Monday After 11 iterations of taking different parameters out, finally stumbled upon the fix to Dagger injection with Tatsuya's confirmation (I'd have kept going trying to fix the param, but turned out I can just remove it :o). Caught LT online too, they do work overtime :') Parents left when I was showering, I caught them at the end of shower and shouted goodbye, James assured me that they did shout goodbye back to me. I started to encourage the kids to check their own work. After Mimi did her math sheet, I asked her to check her work before giving to me. I went to the bathroom. Came back and found Ella checking Mimi's work. Mimi sat close to her and was twirling a pen. After a bit Ella pronounced Mimi's work all correct, I confirmed.    Ella was grumpy when playing lego, but calmed down and told me a story after some petting. 6/6 - 6/12/2022

6/6 - Monday The 25 questions of Iowa turned into an hour! Ella was a trooper and did very well. She got frustrated after reading a 4 line question and don't know the answer. I encouragement her to read again, 3 or 4 times if needed. She read again, cracked a big smile and said "oh this is the answer". She got it right.  She did get frustrated again a few times, but recovered after I reminded her it's normal to read multiple times. One time she explained to me, for the question "if someone got a hole in one, what equipment did they use": you can't use a ball to hit a ball, and this bat looks like the one from 小猪佩奇。 She got the right golf club. 6/7 - Tuesday When I picked up the girls from Ruyi, she commented on how beautiful their hair is. She asked how I washed them every day, I revealed I don't XD  When we walked back home, Ella asked to play outside, but Mimi didn't want to.
