6/20 - 6/26/2022 - Surrey

 6/20 - Monday

Got Juneteenth off, yay for California company. Got Jam to take time off too. So many tea places in Vancouver yet so few opens before 1pm. Got Mustache tea, which had a tea leaf store next door, another tea shop next next door, a tea shop across from the street, with another tea shop two doors down. The tea & boba was only ok, but good enough for an impulse purchase. VanDusen garden is beautiful! And has so many pokestops. The girls were happy at the beginning, then Mimi got grumpy half way through. Once we hit the maze the girls went wild, they loved it too much. We went through it as a family. The girls wanted to go again so I went with them while Jam took a rest. That turned into two times. Then Ella wanted a run just the two of us, then Mimi wanted a run just the two of us, then Ella wanted a run with just her and baba, then Mimi wanted a run with just her and baba, then baba convinced the girls to see other parts, and Mimi soon had to go to the bathroom. The garden is huge, we saw half of it at most, will need to go again. 

The girls are obsessed with my puff.




6/21 - Tuesday

Ella: "有一次我在做ixl的时候那个东西说beast 然后出来了一个东西有两个horn.我们两个不停的笑。" me: "a beast呢。" Ella:"是的。两个触角。"

Ella finished homework early, we played catch ball and paddle ball and ball hit bell for 15+ minutes. I then did homework with Mimi while Ella played more paddle ball with lao lao & lao ye.


6/22 - Wednesday

Apple drama continues :( Omer is back with pushy asks, but couldn't move Fil :( 

Mimi showed me her super fast paddles on the exercise paddler, it was like a blur :O she had to hold my hand, they're sweaty and soft. She gave 10 points for my paddles, while her paddles are 50 points, cause I'm too slow, "maybe because I'm little and you're heavy", she said. She'd tell me when to stop, then say squeakily "let me show you what I can do!", get on, hold my hands, and paddle faster and faster until her legs are blurs. Ella had fun hitting ball with lao lao and lao ye.


6/23 - Thursday

Lao lao reported Mimi wanted to do Chinese homework with me, so I decided to do it with her. She grumped and sat down, I asked if saying she wanted to do Chinese homework with me was an excuse to not do it, she said no. I started to do it with her, she knew 90% of the words! We finished within 10 min, and she exclaimed "that was so easy!"

Mimi's kumon didn't go so well with baba though, I'm not sure what happened, but I had 30+ minutes to play with Ella. We ran, and threw balls. 



6/24 - Friday

Jaime moved Fil \T_T/ I found a breakthrough to at least go back to apple about relay email \T_T/

Getting takeout and ask lao lao to not cook worked! The girls finished their assigned homework before I finished work! \T_T/ And the takeout was delicious!


6/25 - Saturday

After having a dream that I had a positive pregnancy test, woke up to period :') But woke up early enough to read Danny's link to positive account deletion feedback! And head out for Deinos. 

Jaime was online to high five with me about account deletion. Our conversation turned into complains about Omer. Glad we feel the same and we'll both try to report up. Really glad she's on the team, pushy to me but pushes for me & the project more, really cares about the team and features! 

The girls came back from beach trip with lao lao and lao ye and sweaty frizzy hair and pink cheeks. Lao lao game them dessert lunch! Lao lao's desire to clean the fridge trumped her desire to eat healthy. Then we had a peaceful drive home, with some anime music, nap, and more anime music. 

When I went in the shower with Mimi, she said "I love you mama, I always loved you." Referring to all the times she said she hated me I guess. I told her I love her too, and asked how can I show her I love her. She said "I want you to go to the beach with me." Then she told me about all the fun things she and Ella did with grandparents at the not mud bay beach today. When she was scrubbing her toes, she said: "我看到那个beach很wonderful. 所以我想和谁去呢？。。(big eyes)当然是我的family. "  


6/26 - Sunday

Jam and I went out for boba and Mexican while lao lao watched the kids :)

When we came back, Ella said "Mimi was mean to me only in the morning, then she was very nice to me and helped me pick flowers". They of course fought and made up many more times until they fell asleep, together on lao lao's bed. (lao lao helped them move everything and slept in their room)

The girls decorated me again.

1/24 Monday Received email last night the girls had close contact at the Y and need to quarantine T_T Thankfully Jam doesn't mind taking a few days off. Small upside is not having to force the kids to bed before midnight (they stayed up till 12:30) or wake them up early. The whole evening was spend recording Chinese new year greetings. Lots of takes and some mom tantrums later, we had cute footage! Sent to Jam's parents too. Good job me! 1/25 Tuesday Took the kids for the evening again since Jam took them for the whole day. Good job Jam! Got back to doing a little extra reading with the kids - have been doing only Spong homework since beginning of the year. 1/26 Wednesday Got covid result back within 24 hours :o Stuffed kids back in school. Y wouldn't take them back until next week though T_T Happily planned with jam: I'll pick up the kids and he'll take them till dinner time. 2/21 - 2/27/2022

 2/21 - Monday After 11 iterations of taking different parameters out, finally stumbled upon the fix to Dagger injection with Tatsuya's confirmation (I'd have kept going trying to fix the param, but turned out I can just remove it :o). Caught LT online too, they do work overtime :') Parents left when I was showering, I caught them at the end of shower and shouted goodbye, James assured me that they did shout goodbye back to me. I started to encourage the kids to check their own work. After Mimi did her math sheet, I asked her to check her work before giving to me. I went to the bathroom. Came back and found Ella checking Mimi's work. Mimi sat close to her and was twirling a pen. After a bit Ella pronounced Mimi's work all correct, I confirmed.    Ella was grumpy when playing lego, but calmed down and told me a story after some petting. 6/6 - 6/12/2022

6/6 - Monday The 25 questions of Iowa turned into an hour! Ella was a trooper and did very well. She got frustrated after reading a 4 line question and don't know the answer. I encouragement her to read again, 3 or 4 times if needed. She read again, cracked a big smile and said "oh this is the answer". She got it right.  She did get frustrated again a few times, but recovered after I reminded her it's normal to read multiple times. One time she explained to me, for the question "if someone got a hole in one, what equipment did they use": you can't use a ball to hit a ball, and this bat looks like the one from 小猪佩奇。 She got the right golf club. 6/7 - Tuesday When I picked up the girls from Ruyi, she commented on how beautiful their hair is. She asked how I washed them every day, I revealed I don't XD  When we walked back home, Ella asked to play outside, but Mimi didn't want to.
