8/8 - 8/14/2022

 8/8 - Monday

I felt like making bread. So made bread. When Mimi came in the door in the evening, she yelled she had something for me, then yelled "mama's making bread!". Jam was excited when he smelled the bread. The girls happily ate the first half, then stopped and played, and came back to stale and hard second half of the bread. They told me it hurts their head chewing X'D They ate a little more and complained a lot more and sworn never to eat bread again.

8/9 - Tuesday

So nice to see Ira! Always smiling even when talking about constant stressful life XD She squashed two small bugs before I noticed them. Towards the end of the meal a fly came over. She took the lid off the container and one hit killed it. I composted the body. Ira stated she was quite confident of killing this kind of flies XD We went to 小吃街. Ira never been before and loved it, must be really good restaurant to satisfy Ira :)

We went out for dinner to Fang's. Due to reflecting on last Saturday's unhappiness, we decided the girls didn't need to try new food. Even though it was old food, only at a new restaurant. They did try all the food after all. Mimi liked the 葱油饼. Ella rejected all food. Us adults loved all the food!

Trying new food wasn't the only thing we gave up doing I guess:

Kids received so many gifts from IRA. They loved everything. They played with them after 20min each of IOWA.

8/10 - Wednesday

Let the pgo auth flame burn! After a morning of confusion, yodae narrowed down a repro, I was able to point to server, where Kundan found the culprit - getClaim never returned null, so checking null claim and claim.string is null are different :O

Read fullmetal, explained to girls what boobs are. They chuckled at the idea of big boobs. 

Ella's game of war with mama. It was supposed to be a game of chance with who got to attack based on 陀螺spins. I didn't have much chance.

8/11 - Thursday

Got social hoodie :D Ina bailed :( Extra snacks today for all hands :D No raids at work gym today :( Got 36 coins from the gym :D Had a super diarrhea at work while someone else was also in the bathroom :O

Ella's tooth is grey and super wiggly, but wouldn't fall out, hmm. (As of 8/16 still there, grey and wiggling)

8/12 - Friday

One on one with Anhang went fine, I think I'll be good for one year unless I super slack. Worry later after I get my 25% :)

I made bread again. The girls came back, smelled the bread, and Ella came to yell at me for making bread when Jam had promised them soy sauce rice. I told her the bread was just for Jam and me, and she and Mimi could eat soysauce rice. Ella went to tell meme, and Mimi yelled at Jam for offering soy sauce rice and now she doesn't get bread. We promised both they can eat either bread or soysauce rice. They both choose to eat some of each. Mimi finished a whole bread, even bigger than the Monday one, and some soy sauce rice. Ella ate all the inside of her bread, and finished all her soy sauce rice.

We took a walk after dinner as Jam and I both felt fat. As we approached the basketball court we marveled at how quiet it was and the lack of Chinese kids. When we got closer we noticed one set of Chinese neighbour was setting up their badminton net. Some Chinese kids showed up soon after.

Ella and Mimi played far away from the others in the mud. One shy kid came over and said hi to Mimi. Mimi said hi back, and the kid shyly walked away. After playing a bit, Mimi called out to check what Ella put on her leg. Jam got there first and it was a tiny slug! Ella apparently had accidentally flung onto Mimi when digging mud. Mimi whined to go back home to wash up, so we headed home. 

On the way home the girls fought, so we each walked with one kid. We looped through kunkun's house so I could get some more steps in. Jam went ahead first. He called back after passing Ruyi's. We caught up and found xiao xiao having a garage sell. The girls looked at all the stuff. They were amazed by the fuse beads xiao xiao made, so much so that Ella decided to spend one dollar on an orange.  

We watched the last episode of Ms Marval, which was pretty good and made up for the previous episode of easy clandestine deaths. After the movie I felt really sleepy, went to bed and fell asleep soon after.

8/13 - Saturday

I slept in, then went to snuggle the sleepy girls. I got many many mouthfuls of cheeks, and as soon as they started stirring and pulling my hair I bailed. Mimi kept saying "en en mama" when I was cheeking her. Sometimes in the morning when I try to wake her up, she would open her eyes, say "hug mama", and hug me close. Like how I ask Jam to lay on top of me after he pulls my blanket off. Ella on the other hand can spring out of bed and be a human, like Jam. 

We took our time eating breakfast, doing hair, get gas, boba, hit the library, before heading to the blueberry farm. We got to the farm right when people were leaving for lunch, and found a good parking spot not far away. The girls picked zone 1 to start picking first. It was very barren. The kids did manage  to find some very small and very sweet blueberries. We then went to zone 2, which was a little better. I urged the fam to go towards the back since we always found better berries in the back in past years. We checked the front of zone 7, which was pretty good. Some sweet ones, some sour ones. and many clusters. The fam settled there. We picked a little, and I abandoned them to go towards the fence for I had no more balls for zigzagoons. Once I hit the fence, I found a cluster of zigzagoons by one of the stops, and two rows of almost untouched, unharvested, completely ripe blueberry bushes. I hurried the fam to those rows, the girls rejoiced and feasted. Jam was 撸'ing handfuls after handfuls of blueberries off the branches, and quickly filled half a bucket, which we later found was 5 pounds. The day got hot fast, and with the bucket getting heavy to carry, we headed back. The good Jam spread the news of the ripe blueberries near the fence, while I got a handful of red zigzagoons on my account and my plznobulbasaur.

We went to get 85c as E craved them. Me too :) There was a long line, and I picked so many breads I almost didn't make it to the cash register before having to put them on the ground.

I crazed another 3 hours?! more of pgo and pikmim after we got home. While doing NNAT and IOWA with the kids. After sending kids to bed,  I checked trello and realized past Song had a long list of todos for today, including digging some bamboo for E. Hope tomorrow Song wakes up early enough to do them XD  

8/14 - Sunday

E pool party day! Woke at 9, made boba, dug bamboo, dug & potted mint, did girls hair, waited for Jam to pot bomboo, put everything including the girls into the car. Sat with the girls in the back seat and told them about Nami's backstory. They were very interested after seeing the preview for the next episode.

Jam drove through downtown Seattle. Mimi suddenly asked if up ahead was where Jam saw me for the first time. It didn't look like Westlake to me, too many trees around, so I said it's probably close but not the exact spot. We drove by and turned out it was Westlake and the exact spot :O I quickly corrected myself and praised Mimi's good eye.s

The girls loved the pool sooo much! We ended up being in it for 2.5 hours instead of the planned 30 minutes. I didn't emerge as I had prolonged spotting after birth control pills X'D But did float for quite a while. E had the great idea of buying the arm floaties, the girls loved them and was paddling so well with them.

We then watched honey I shrunk the kids. Which was very fun for all in our family. E and Steve endured with phone time XD

The girls were pooped out. 

I made eggs and that's all we had for dinner. Everyone loved the soy sauce eggs. Jam even ate two :) Then it was a flurry of girls showers, shot, my shower, girls hair. We watched Nami's backstory when doing hair. The girls were so tense when the fishmen noticed Bellmere's house on the hill. Mimi could not decide to stay or duck under the table, and was doing slight up and down motions around the edge of the table. I decided to stop the video so they don't see the actual death of Bellmere :( After sending the girls upstairs, they came back a few times with lots of questions about how Lily found Nami and how Nami grew up and what will happen to Bellmere. They eventually settled down and played nicely with each other in their room.
